Born in 1947, Mie Prefecture, Japan.
Takashi Ohi is a leading vibraphone player,
said to play with the soul of Milt Jackson.
Many people have been amazed by his 2-mallet swing style of playing. He studied music at Kunitachi College of Music in Japan.
After graduating, he toured the United States, and performed at
The Monterey Jazz Festival, Wolf Trap International Jazz Festival,
And Mount Hood Jazz Festival with John Lewis, Craig Terry, Jimmy
Cob, Jimmy Forest, and Al Gray.
He recorded "Good Vibration" with John Lewis, "Mr. Blue" with
Ray Brown, Gene Harris, and Jeff Hamilton. He currently plays with his own group,
“Takashi Ohi & Super Vibration”.
